YOUTH RED CROSS
The Youth Red Cross (YRC) in Government Engineering College(Autonomous) is one of the avenues among NSS to the students to be pursued under Personality and Character Development Programme
OBJECTIVE OF YRC
To conduct social and health awareness programmes.
Awareness on the care of their own health and that of others.
To encourage the students to extend their humanitarian services to the society.
To offer First Aid Training to all the YRC volunteers.
To develop leadership quality among the students.
The understanding and acceptance of civic responsibilities and acting accordingly with humanitarian concern, to fulfill the same.
To offer First Aid Training to all the YRC volunteers.
To inculcate in the Youth of our country.
To understand and acceptance of civic and human responsibilities
GOAL OF YRC
The Indian Red Cross Society aims to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times, all forms of humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimized, alleviated and even prevented, thus contribute to creating a more congenial climate for peace
REGULAR ACTIVITIES OF YRC
Ø Blood Donation Camp.
Ø Blood Grouping and Haemoglobin Estimation.
Ø Conduct Essay competition and award prizes.
Ø Practice of Health habits.
Ø Exhibition of film shows, cultural programmes and prevention of diseases.
RED RIBBON CLUB
The club organizes awareness camps on AIDS and Blood Donation at regular intervals in village areas
GOAL OF RRC
Equipping youth with correct information on HIV/AIDS Prevention,
Treatment, Care and Supporting.
To make HIV/AIDS free INDIA by creating awareness about the spread and cause of HIV/AIDS among the student youth, non-student youth and public.
MAIN OBJECTIVES OF RRC
- To prepare youth as peer educators/agents of change both among youth as well as society at large by developing their skills on leadership, advocacy, communication and team building.
- To serve as forums for students to participate in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
- To promote voluntary blood donation among youth.
- To motivate youth and build their capacity as peer educators and change agents by developing their skills on leadership, negotiation, and team building.
- To counsel the students regarding the various preventives for their proper health.
REGULAR ACTIVITIES OF RRC
Workshop on Aids awareness. College level elocution and singing competition. Blood donation camp.
